The Site Administrator for a school, office, or other organization has top-level administrative priviledges to report on all aspects of saved activities, components, and progress of users. Staff Accounts provide the next level below of controlled administrative access.

District or Regional Administrators

District or Regional Administrators can view aggregated reports from all sites under their jurisdiction, as well as slice & dice data across sites or drill down to specific sites and metrics.

Statewide Operators

Statewide Operators of the CIS Platform have full access to all reporting metrics across regions and sites. Development tools are provided for custom report generation as well as customization services.

Portfolios in CIS are lifelong. Students build on their career plans every year in CIS and can continue to use their Portfolios after graduation. Portfolios are transferrable between schools, colleges, workforce centers, and all other sites.


Students and adults return repeatedly to CIS because of the annually updated, high-quality labor market information and career exploration tools.


When users save occupations, schools, scholarships, Career Plan reflections, and resumes to their Portfolios they are building a repository of knowledge that they can draw on for years to come.

Career Trek engages elementary-age students in highly interactive, developmentally-appropriate, and gamified career exploration. Kids gain career awareness by completing activities and games to learn about careers and connect them to interests and skills.

CIS Junior lays the groundwork for career success for high school and beyond by building the habits of record-keeping, goal-setting, and decision-making. Students complete career assessments, curriculum activities, and build their personal Portfolios. CIS Junior is controlled for a sixth-grade reading level.

CIS High School combines comprehensive career, education, school, and scholarship information with an outcome-driven curriculum and Personal Learning Plan. Students build on their work in CIS Junior with additional tools that expand their horizons. CIS High School is controlled for a ninth-grade reading level.

CIS College prepares students for a successful job search with resume, cover letter, and interview tools. Students can also use career assessments and career information to connect their majors to career opportunities in their communities. CIS College includes a full list of scholarships and financial aid advice.

CIS Workforce provides adults with invaluable career planning and job search tools. Easy to access and simple to use, CIS Workforce enables adults to engage in a self-directed career planning experience. Translate workforce career exploration in your state into actionable reporting.

CIS Corrections is a security-focused system that provides inmates with career planning and job search tools without compromising the security requirements and safety needs of the facility. intoCareers can customize CIS for unique institutional needs.

An Innovative Network of Peers


State operators of CIS systems from around the nation collaborate on a regular basis to exchange ideas and discuss career development innovations in their states. The CIS Network is comprised of leaders in their areas from across Secondary Education, Labor and Workforce, and Higher Education state offices.


The CIS Network gathers yearly with intoCareers leadership to set research and development objectives, achieve common goals, and share creative strategies.


In addition to exchanging ideas, state leaders collaborate more directly on projects to improve and develop new tools in the CIS Platform. These projects are often then able to be shared with other states as part of the base CIS Platform: a non-profit model which truly delivers year-over-year increased value and innovation at lower costs than private and for-profit vendor relationships.
